is a civil society organisation
That brings together active young people to rebuild Ukraine through volunteering, non-formal education, and community development. Since 2014, BUR has created opportunities for young people to become agents of change in their communities, promoting social cohesion, a culture of mutual support, and responsible citizenship.
The organisation runs volunteer camps focused on restoring homes and public spaces, youth exchanges, educational programmes, training courses, and advocacy initiatives. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, BUR became actively involved in humanitarian response efforts, the recovery of the war-affected areas, and support for young people and communities impacted by the war.
Over the past ten years, BUR has organised 171 volunteer camps involving 11,158 volunteers. The organisation has also conducted more than 700 BURchyks (short-term local volunteer initiatives), supported long-term volunteering programmes in 20 communities involving 41 volunteers, engaged 433 participants in mentoring programmes, and reached 580 communities through BUR volunteer events.
