Ukraine’s barrier-free space
Works towards Ukraine’s social recovery by creating inclusive spaces and habilitation programmes, and by supporting veterans, young people and people with disabilities. The centre develops cross-sectoral solutions at the intersection of education, mental health, urban planning, accessibility and civic engagement.
The centre pays particular attention to creating safe spaces for veterans, women who have experienced captivity or other war-related trauma, young people and military families. The organisation implements educational, cultural, rehabilitation and advocacy initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and including vulnerable groups in the country’s recovery processes.
The organisation develops and implements a model for social adaptation and habilitation centres for veterans, young people and people with disabilities. The model combines psychosocial support, educational programmes, recreation, artistic activities and community development. A key feature is the interdisciplinary approach and the involvement of veterans in co-creating the programmes.
